Suspect leads deputies on 2 chases before arrest in Florence

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - A suspect has been arrested after leading Florence County sheriff's deputies on a car and foot chase.

Deputies charged Charvis Goodman, 27, of Florence, with failure to stop for a blue light, driving under suspension, habitual offender, driving on the wrong side of the road and possession of marijuana, according to jail records.

The chase happened Monday, just before 9 p.m. A deputy tried to make a traffic stop at the Irby Street and Wilson Street intersection, when the suspect didn't stop, Major Mike Nunn confirmed.

A police chase was initiated by the Goodman.

The chase ended at a residence at North Wingate Street.

Goodman reportedly jumped out the car, without putting the vehicle in park and led deputies on a foot chase.

Authorities were able to capture the suspect and place him under arrest.
