FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - Women in Philanthropy will hold their sixth annual grant cycle on Tuesday, August 26, at noon, in the Stukes Room at Drs. Bruce and Lee Library in Florence.

Women in Philanthropy is an Eastern Carolina Community Foundation committed to giving. The organization will hear five minute oral presentations from 501(c)3 non-profit organizations in the Pee Dee. The nonprofit organizations are competing and applying to receive a grant from Women in Philanthropy.

The grant applicants have completed a written application and received a site visit from members of the grant committee. After the presentations members of the committee will vote to determine who will receive the grant. Funding for the grant awards comes from annual contributions from the members of Women in Philanthropy.

The competing organizations have budgets under $750,000 and provide services that focus on health, nutrition, and assistance to victims of violence, neglect and poverty.

The general public is invited and food will be provided.
