CCU students show support for Ferguson

Posted: Updated:

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - Coastal Carolina students gathered for a picture to support of Ferguson. The Missouri town has been filled with riots and chaos between protestors and police since the deadly shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown.

"We want to show that residents of South Carolina do care specifically on Coastal Carolina University campus," said Tamara Jackson, Member of the Student Union.

"It's very sad, so we have to come support, not just for [Brown] but for everybody so this situation doesn't happen again," said William Bond, a senior at the college.

Students used #HandsUpDontShoot and #PictureForJustice on social media to reach students and organize the event Tuesday.
