GARDEN CITY, SC (WMBF) - A Garden City fire station has been deemed safe by a Charleston Explosive, Ordnance, Demolition team after a canister was removed.
An Horry County bomb squad was called to station at around 6 p.m. Thursday. A canister washed ashore and was taken to the Murrells Inlet-Garden City station by a beachgoer, Capt. Petrella with the department confirmed.
The Horry County Explosive, Ordnance, Demolition team was on the scene of 290 Azalea Avenue until the Charleston team could arrive.
No potential threats exist; the area was deemed safe.
