Online fundraiser organized after Dillon County fire station break-in

DILLON, SC (WMBF) - An online fundraiser has been organized to support a Dillon County fire station after money was stolen.

Dillon County Fire Station 5 held a boot drive fundraiser on July 31, Capt. Cliff Arnette, with the sheriff's office said.

Donated money was believed to have been taken overnight from the station.

When the engineer arrived the following morning, the money was missing.

Signs of forced entry were evident at the station.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to help the station recover from the incident.
