Mosquito spraying continues in Horry County

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Horry County will begin mosquito spraying from August 18 to August 21, if the weather permits. Below are the areas that will be treated.

• Poplar

• Lee's Landing

Aerial spraying will be done in the evenings between 7 p.m. to dusk. Ground operations will be conducted from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

The mosquito spraying chemicals are EPA approved and pose minimal risk to humans and animals. If you have asthma or other respiratory illnesses, stay indoors and close all doors and windows. All home grown fruits and vegetables should be washed, scrubbed or peeled before consumption.

Beekeepers are encouraged to contact Horry County Mosquito & Spraying to identify the location of their colonies. Citizens with concerns, complaints, or those requesting spraying in their area, should contact Horry County Mosquito & Spraying at 915-5174.
