1 man, 1 teen charged in Dillon County mobile home fire

DILLON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) – A man and teen have been charged in connection with the fire at a single-wide mobile home that killed pet dogs, and destroyed a pick-up truck and a tractor, according to Dillon County Fire officials.

Ray Summey Fisher IV, 17, of Little Rock and Matthew Ryan Cook, 22, of Latta have been arrested and charged with burglary and arson, Capt. Cliff Arnette said.

The fire started at around 4 a.m. on Friday, August 8 in the 1600 block of Lester Road, according to Engineer Michael Miller with Dillon County Fire District 4. The first started in a single-wide mobile home with a carport and porch attached.

The man who owned the home was there; he woke up to find the car port on fire, and then the end of the mobile home caught fire. He was not hurt, Miller said.

The case remains an ongoing investigation.
