GEORGETOWN, SC (WMBF) - Two Georgetown Hospital System employees have earned national certification as cardiovascular care coordinators.
Julie Pope and Sheila Locklair completed required coursework and an exam to earn this certification. Pope is the health system's director of cardiovascular services. She has a bachelor's degree in health sciences and a master's degree in health administration. Locklair is the director of the critical care unit at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. She has a bachelor's and master's degree in nursing.
The cardiovascular certification recognizes these individuals as excellent team builders and project managers. The coursework offered strategic data utilization, first contact provider education, process improvement and more.
Georgetown Memorial and Waccamaw Community hospitals provide various cardiovascular services. Georgetown Memorial opened a cardiac catheterization laboratory to treat patients with cardiac related illnesses.
