SOCASTEE, SC (WMBF) – Patrons at a Socastee bar told police that an intoxicated man got upset Wednesday night, fired his gun into the air outside the bar, then bit one person's hand and hit another person in the head with an ashtray.

Horry County Police responded to a bar on Socastee Boulevard Wednesday night due to reports of shot fired, according to the HCPD report.

Witnesses told the responding officer that the intoxicated man got upset with everyone in the bar, and threw a shot glass. Several people tried to remove him from the bar, and he pulled a handgun from his motorcycle. One witness said he heard about five shots being fired.

A victim then got into an argument with the man, because he was trying to ride home while intoxicated. She took his keys from him, and he bit her hand, the report states. Another victim told police that the man threw an ashtray at his head. Police noted the victim had a lump and a patch of missing skin on his head.

The officer found eight bullet casings in the parking lot, and the suspect's helmet. The helmet was taken into evidence.

According to the report, the officer will obtain a photo line-up from SLED to identify the suspect with each victim.
