Stolen puppies found in Florence

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) - Two puppies have been found after being reported stolen from the Florence Animal Shelter, as the result of a break-in.

The two hounds were found on Gilbert Road, which is located near the shelter, Jane Boswell confirmed. Boswell operates the shelter. She contributes the puppies being found to social media and news reports.

On Sunday night, two people broke into the facility between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., according to Chuck Pope, City of Florence Public Works Director.

The people climbed a back fence gained access to where the puppies were. Three puppies were stolen, but one was brought back. Cameras on site captured the act.
