Aynor Blue Jackets Pigskin Preview

AYNOR BLUE JACKETS
Class 2A, Region VIII

2013 Record: 7-5; lost to Timberland in second round of playoffs

2014 Season Opener: August 23rd, vs. Gilbert, 2:30 (in Columbia; Battle at the Bluff)

Key Returners: The strength is clearly in the backfield, where Daiquan Smith and Kamron Johnson both return for head coach Jody Jenerette. They played every single snap last year, so there expects to be plenty of experience on the offensive side.

Key Losses: Even though he was injured all season, QB Nathan Peeples is moving on to play football at The Citadel, but served as a team captain even from the sideline last year. D.Q. Nash also graduated, who was a defensive standout, and he played just about every play on defense since his sophomore year.

Look for him on Saturdays: Aaron Cowing will likely begin to garner some attention from colleges, and he's only a junior. Look for him to be a dual threat, serving as Aynor's fullback but also spending time on the defensive line.
