SCDOT plans to replace Loris bridge on Hemingway Road

LORIS, SC (WMBF) - A bridge in Loris has been rated structurally deficient and is scheduled for replacement by SCDOT officials.

The bridge along Hemingway Road spans Cowpens Swamp near Loris.

The project is tentatively scheduled to begin on September 8. Barring any unforeseen delays, the bridge should be reopened to traffic by approximately December 29, SCDOT officials said.

An alternate route includes Circle Bay Drive and West Bear Grass Road.
