4 Manning men face burglary charges

FLORENCE COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Four Manning men have been arrested following a manhunt in Timmonsville, according to Florence County officials.

Shawn Edward Avant, 25, was arrested by Florence County Sheriff's Office authorities. Avant has been charged with second degree burglary. In addition to his arrest, Mikah Nelsun Green, 18; Keenan Alonza Georgia, 18; John Earl Oneal Coard, 21, have been charged with second degree burglary.

Deputies arrested the four suspects following an extensive manhunt in the area of John Paul Jones Road and Country Lane in Florence County on Thursday, July 31.

Just before 2 p.m. Thursday, deputies received a report of a break-in in progress on John Paul Jones Road in Florence County.

Witnesses reported seeing the suspects fleeing the scene in a gray Jeep Cherokee, which ran into a ditch in front of the residence. Following the vehicle crash, the suspects fled on foot into wooded areas nearby.

K-9 tracking teams were used in the search, along with a helicopter, provided by SLED.

One suspect was caught. at approximately 2:15 p.m.

The remaining three suspects were captured at around 6 p.m.

The incident remains under investigation and additional charges are possible.
