Long Bay Symphony begins its 27th season

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The time has come for the Long Bay Symphony to offer their classic musical talents to the city of Myrtle Beach.

This season entitled, Great Masterpieces, Masterfully Performed offers musical arrangements that pay homage to Beethoven and Friedrich Schiller. The selections include, Beethoven's Ninth, Ode to Joy and more.

Most concerts will be held on September 28 in the Myrtle Beach High School Music and Arts Center on 3302 Robert Grissom Parkway. Performances will be on Sundays at 4 p.m. The season schedule is below:

The Long Bay Symphony will also offer The Chamber Orchestra and the Pops Series. The orchestra consists of a smaller ensemble including woodwind, string and brass instrumentalists. They will perform a holiday sampler and much more. The Pops series presents Movie Music Spectacular: The Music of John Williams.

    LUMBERTON, NC (WMBF) - A suspect is behind bars Saturday, charged with murder in connection to the death of 85-year-old Rufus Revels of Lumberton County.
