Myrtle Beach makes Yahoo’s top 10 buzziest beach destination list

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The City of Myrtle Beach made yet another top 10 list this week. Myrtle Beach ranks number three among the top ten "buzziest" beach destinations in the U.S., according to Yahoo Travel.

Sites like Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter, WordPress, YouTube, TripAdvisor, Adobe Digital Index and more, were referenced to help compile this list. Myrtle Beach's stage shows, entertainment, water sports and wealth restaurants helped the tourist destination come in at a strong third on Yahoo's list; leading beaches like Laguna Beach in California and Maui, Hawaii.

"Our 60 miles of beautiful, sandy beaches, affordable accommodations and wealth of attractions continue to make the Myrtle Beach area stand out from other beach destinations," said Brad Dean, President and CEO of the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce.

The top 10 buzziest beach destinations, according to Yahoo Travel, are:

• San Diego, Calif.

• Miami Beach, Fla.

• Myrtle Beach, S.C.

• Huntington Beach, Calif.

• Clearwater, Fla.

• Laguna Beach, Calif.

• Maui, Hawaii

• Jacksonville Beach, Fla.

• Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

• Hilton Head, S.C.
