NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The developer of the Coastal North Town Center and Village Shops in North Myrtle Beach has withdrawn its application to amend the Robbers Roost Planned Development District to allow the use of a medical clinic, according to North Myrtle Beach Public Information Officer Patrick Dowling.

According to the release, the proposed amendment will not be considered by North Myrtle Beach City Council.

The North Myrtle Beach Planning Commission all voted on July 22 to recommend to City Council that it not approve the proposed amendment, according to Dowling.

According to explanatory text within the July 22 Planning Commission agenda packet, the medical clinic would have been used as a 24/7 emergency room with 8-12 examination rooms with imaging/lab capabilities.

The main stores in the Coastal North Town Center will open in September. The entire shopping center is scheduled to be completed by October.
