MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Myrtle Beach Police responded to a call at a home off Cedar Street Monday afternoon in reference to woman who stabbed her boyfriend.
Officers arrived at the home around 4:30 p.m.
The victim stated that he just got home and entered his residence when Lyshelle Lynette Ross, 45, of Myrtle Beach started yelling at him. He stated that Ross was drunk and started smacking him, according to the police report.
The victim stated that he tried to get Ross to stop hitting him but she would not. Ross then grabbed a butcher knife and stabbed the victim on the upper left side of his chest.
According to the police report, Ross stated to police that the victim left the night before the incident and did not see him the whole night. She said that while she was arguing with her boyfriend he had a knife that he fell on.
The police report said that Ross kept switching up her stories.
Ross also told police that she went to her friends and did not see the victim, but that she might have stabbed the victim with a butcher knife.
A Myrtle Beach Detective collected witness statements and interviewed the victim.
Myrtle Beach Police collected a shirt with blood on it and the weapon Ross used to stab the victim.
The Detective completed a warrant on Ross for criminal domestic violence since she and the victim live together and have been in a relationship for 14 years, according to the police report.
The victim refused to go to the hospital.
