ATLANTIC BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Gov. Nikki Haley is scheduled to meet with town leaders from Atlantic Beach on Tuesday.

The executive session has been scheduled to discuss the mayhem surrounding Bikefest 2014. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.

In addition, more than 25 people from nearly a dozen agencies have registered to attend the Myrtle Beach Special Events Summit.

In June, Governor Haley offered to help the town of Atlantic Beach financially if they end Bikefest. However, Mayor Evans feels he would be out of line to do so. He says this event is something the people have put together for over 30 years, and that it is about much more than money.

The meeting is one of many state and local leaders have held to brainstorm ideas to handle the event.

The Myrtle Beach area saw more violence in a 48-hour span, from the result of the Bikefest event, than it had ever seen in a short amount of time.
