Storm knocks out power for hundreds in Conway

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - More than 1500 people were without power due to a severe storm that swept through the Grand Strand Monday afternoon.

According to outage information from Horry Electric Cooperative, about 1526 customers were affected. Nearly 200 people by the South Conway substation were without power at one time. About 637 customers were affected in the Four Mile area of Conway. About 69 Santee Cooper customers in the Conway area were also without power.

Duke Energy reported about 26 customers affected by outages in Florence near I-20. In Brittons Neck, 135 customers were without power, and 49 customers without power in Hartsville, at a given time. Customers were affected by outages near Dillon as well.
