DARLINGTON COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - The Darlington County School District will hold fall registration for the four-year-old Kindergarten classes.

The child development program for the Darlington County School District is a district and state-funded program for children in Darlington County who will be four-years-old on or before September 1, 2014.

Parents must bring the following to registration:

1. Medicaid Card (if available)

2. Birth Certificate

3. Current Immunization Record

4. Social Security Card

5. Proof or Residence (utility bill, phone bill, property tax receipt, etc.).

Parents who registered in the Spring will need to verify information.

Hartsville's registration will be held on Monday, August 4, at Hartsville Adult Education on 437 West Carolina Ave. from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Darlington's registration will be held on Tuesday, August 5 at the Darlington County School District Administrative Building on 120 East Smith Avenue between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Four-year-old kindergarten in Lamar and Society Hill will be on Tuesday, August 5, at Lamar Elementary School and Rosenwald Elementary/Middle School.

Funds helped to add seven full-day 4K classrooms in June of 2014. Cain Elementary School, Pate Elementary School, St. Johns Elementary School, Lamar Elementary School, Rosenwald Elementary/Middle School, Southside Early Childhood Center, and Washington Street Elementary School now offer full-day Child Development Education Program classrooms. These programs will replace half-day classrooms in Hartsville and Darlington.

For the 2014-2015 school year, if a district receives full-day funds, they will no longer receive funding for half-day programs.
