Man takes off with hair extensions after failing to open cash register

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Myrtle Beach Police responded to Sally Beauty Supply at 1315 North Kings Highway where a man took off with hair extensions after failing to open the cash register.

According to the police report, the victim stated that the suspect entered the store on Saturday and asked for hair extensions. The victim got the hair extensions off a secured display and rang them up on the cash register.

The suspect then pulled up his shirt and showed the victim the handle of a black automatic pistol.

The suspect then told her to open the register but she was too afraid to move and operate it, according to the police report.

The suspect proceeded to walk behind the counter to open the register himself. When the suspect was unable to open the register he took the hair extensions and left the store.

The suspect was described as a black male with a goatee. He was described as 6 feet tall with a thin built, according to the police report. He may be driving a red SUV. 

The suspect wore a towel around his neck, a black spandex sleep cap, sunglasses and a white t-shirt and jeans.

The incident is still under investigation.
