Report: Victim beaten and robbed by man and 3 women in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – A 46-year-old man was beaten and robbed by a man and three women outside a motel on Ocean Boulevard early Sunday morning, according to a Myrtle Beach Police report.

Police responded to the Best Western Carolinian Inn and Suites for a report of a strong armed robbery, the MBPD report states.

The victim told police that he and one of the suspects, a woman, left Club 2001 in North Myrtle Beach and got a cab to the Lazy G Motel. He said they went inside a room and saw other suspects there, which made him uncomfortable. He told the first suspect he was ready to leave.

The victim and the suspect left the room and walked across the street to call a cab. Moments later, the other three suspects came down and offered him a ride. He agreed, and followed the suspects to the alley behind the motel.

At that time, the male suspect grabbed the victim by the neck, choked him, threw him on the ground, and punched him in the face, while the other suspects went through his pockets and took his wallet, according to the police report. All suspects then fled on foot.

The man stumbled down Ocean Boulevard until he saw a security guard at the Best Western front desk, according to the report.

Although he was highly intoxicated during the incident, the victim said he could recognize the suspects if he saw them again, the report states.

An investigator arrived on scene and conducted an interview with the victim.
