Dog urinating in home leads to woman charged with assault

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WBTW) – A woman is facing charges for punching and stabbing a man Sunday night after getting into an argument over her dog urinating on the man's carpets and furniture, according to a Myrtle Beach Police report.

The incident happened around 11:45 p.m. at a home on 37th Avenue North.

Tracy Cox, 50, of Myrtle Beach is charged with assault and battery in the second degree after she punched the 46-year-old male victim and stabbed him in the hand when the man asked Cox to take her dog outside.

A witness who is friends with both Cox and the victim corroborated the victim's statements, according to the police report.

Medics responded to the incident and treated both Cox and the victim for their injuries. Cox was transported to Grand Strand Hospital for pain complainants to her legs and then later released and transported to Myrtle Beach Jail.
