HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - We are already seeing temperatures near 80 degrees in the area this morning, and that number will continue to climb today.
A heat advisory is in effect from noon to 7 p.m. today in the Pee Dee and Grand Strand. With temperatures in the lower 90s in the Grand Strand and upper 90s inland, the humidity will help the heat index topple into the triple digits across the area. This means that prolonged activity outdoors can be dangerous and you should be especially cautious of heat exhaustion today.
Although today and tomorrow will be extremely hot, a cold front will push through on Monday evening and bring a relief from the heat. This will help drop our temperatures below average and give us a break from the muggy conditions.
