Report: Woman held captive over $100 drug debt in Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Myrtle Beach Police are investigating after two women allegedly held another woman captive over a $100 drug debt.

At about 1:45 a.m. Friday morning, Myrtle Beach Police officers responded to the Lancer Hotel, where a man told police that a woman called him, asking for $100 worth of the painkiller Percocet, according to the police report. He said he no longer sold drugs, but met her anyway and took the $100, because he had lent her $350 a month ago, and she never paid him back.

Later, another suspect called the man's wife and asked to go out with her. She did, and several hours later, the wife called and talked to her husband, saying that she was being held against her will until the husband paid back the $100 he took from the first suspect.

That's when the man called Myrtle Beach Police. Officers arrived, the man called the suspects back, and agreed to pay them the $100. Officers waited at the meeting location, and the victim was dropped off on the side of the road nearby.

Officers took photos of injuries to the victim's face, and she and her husband identified the suspects.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
