NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The Coastal North Town Center is shaping up, and soon you'll notice even more coming to North Myrtle Beach. The city says businesses are coming in quickly, taking advantage of the renewed interest in the area.
City spokesperson Pat Dowling says 10 new tenants have reserved spots in the Coastal North Town Center. The list includes restaurants like Chipotle, Which Wich, and Dickey's Bar-B-Que. But all the new development isn't just happening at the Coastal North Town Center, it's spreading around the area. Down the street off of Marina Bay Drive a new Mellow Mushroom is under construction, and on Main Street a new fast food Chain called Burgerfi is in the works.
The space for new business is filling up, so now the interest is moving to the west side of the waterway surrounding the new Sports Park. Developers are in the process of filling 15 spots for stores and seven for restaurants in a new shopping center called Champions Crossing there. The large Coastal North Town Center and sports park projects seem to be keeping the city buzzing with new development.
"North Myrtle Beach is definitely on a...I wouldn't call it a pre-2007 growth spurt, but it's a healthy recovery of the economy in terms of new shops and new restaurants", said Dowling.
As far as the Coastal North Town Center, the main stores will open in September, and you can expect a grand opening of the entire shopping center in October.
