MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) -

Officials with the Charleston County Coroner's Office have identified a 22-year-old woman who died from a car accident on Monday.

Authorities say Wendy Castro-Valle of Myrtle Beach died of blunt force trauma.

At 2:07 p.m. on Monday, the Mount Pleasant Police Department responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 17 at Hamlin Road.

Police say a vehicle driven by Castro-Valle was heading north when it ran a red light. A police report says the vehicle began to "fish-tail" which caused the vehicle to swerve to the right, leave the roadway and strike a sweetgrass basket stand.

MPPD officials say the driver of the vehicle died as a result of the collision, and no one was injured in the the sweetgrass basket stand. According to police, three other people in the vehicle were transported with minor injuries to the Medical University of South Carolina.

Witnesses reported that the car involved in the accident almost hit a building.

Police had shut down northbound traffic in the area as authorities investigated the accident.
