FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) – A 44-year-old Florence man pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography Thursday; he faces up to 10 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $250,000.
Andrew Stephen Jackson entered the guilty plea in a Florence federal court, according to a news release from the office of the United States Attorney, District of South Carolina.
Jackson was trading child pornography with someone in Australia in October 2010, according to evidence presented at the change of plea hearing. Thousands of child pornography images were found on Jackson's computers after a search warrant was executed at his home.
The cause was investigated by the FBI, and was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to protect children from online exploitation and abuse.
