HCS: Registration for child development is soon coming to a close

Final screenings for the Child Development program will be held on weekdays through Wednesday, July 23, with the exception of Friday, July 18. Final screenings for the Child Development program will be held on weekdays through Wednesday, July 23, with the exception of Friday, July 18.

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Time is running out to register your potential preschooler for the Child Development program in Horry County elementary schools.

Final screenings for the program will be held on weekdays through Wednesday, July 23, with the exception of Friday, July 18. The Child Development program is designed to prepare students for kindergarten.

Each child must be screened to determine eligibility into the program. Applicants for the program must be four years old on or before September 1, 2014. Applications should include a registration form, the child's birth certificate, a current immunization record, proof of residency, income verification, and a copy of the child's Medicaid card if applicable.

To have your child screened, contact the elementary school that they will be attending. If the screening at your school of choice has passed, contact Jeanna Allen at jallen004@horrycountyschools.net or Cerrie Doyle at cdoyle@horrycountyschools.net.
