SURFSIDE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - The Surfside Beach Police Department is hosting a charity pancake supper to raise money for the South Carolina Special Olympics.
The supper will be held on Friday, July 18, at the Golden Egg on 415 Highway 17 North, from 4 to 8 p.m. The food will be served by uniformed SBPD officers. The Surfside Beach Police Department participates in the South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers Association fundraising efforts for the Special Olympics annually. All food was donated by the Golden Egg and others so that all proceeds can go to the olympics.
According to SBPD Chief of Police and Maitre d' Rodney Keziah, hundreds of tickets have been sold. "It's a great cause, and we're expecting a good crowd. We are also expecting to take some abuse due to our general lack of food service ability, but everyone is looking forward to it," Keziah said.
Tickets are $7. Anyone interested in donating or purchasing tickets to the supper may call SBPD AT 913-6368 or the Golden Egg at 238-4923.
