MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Ithaca Gun Company, a firearms company based in Ohio, has not responded to a deadline and appears will not be expanding its operations in the Myrtle Beach area.
In October 2013, the Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corporation announced the company would bring an estimated $6.7 million and 120 high-skilled jobs to the area.
"[MBREDC] sent them an incentive package on June 17 … The deadline was June 25," President Brad Lofton confirmed.
"Ithaca Gun Company had a desire to put the gun manufacturing along with glass manufacturing," Lofton said. "[MBREDC] was not interested in glass recyclables," he added.
Brad says he doesn't think Ithaca was interested in separating the two.
However, MBREDC leaders are working with eight active prospects, Lofton confirmed.
"We have a very healthy pipeline in place," he added.
