HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - SCDOT crews worked to restore power to traffic lights along Highway 501 following severe thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon.

The defect at the traffic lights at the intersection of Carolina Forest Boulevard and Highway 501 was reported at 12:40 p.m. by Highway Patrol.

Nearly two hours later, the status was updated that SCDOT had been notified.

Reports came in that the traffic light located further north at Gardner Lacy Road was also out.

Officers directed traffic on Highway 76 and Old Marion Highway in Florence.

A severe thunderstorm warning for Horry County was in place Tuesday until 3:30 p.m.
