CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - Coast RTA began launching its Summer Service on July 1.
With financial assistance from Horry County Council, for the FY15 BUDGET, Coast RTA was able to move forward with the summer service routes. "Our 2013 summer service ridership numbers saw more than 36,000 take advantage of our services and the Entertainment Shuttle saw just under 20,000 riders last summer," said Julie Norton-Dew, Interim General Manager and CEO. "We're starting a little later than usual but filling a need for our local residents and tourists," said Norton-Dew.
The following Coast RTA routes and times were effective on July 7:
1) Route 7 - Will have 1 hour frequencies. There will be a bus leaving the Conway Terminal and the Myrtle Beach Transfer Center at the top of every hour.
2) Route 10, which leaves the Myrtle Beach Transfer Station and includes the Coastal Grand Mall, has been modified to accommodate the Myrtle Beach International Airport and Kings Highway locations. This route will have a bus departing the Myrtle Beach Transfer Center every 30 minutes at the top of the hour and at the half hour mark daily until 6 p.m.
The following routes and times for summer service were effective on July 1:
1) Routes 15 N (to 82nd and Grand Strand Hospital) & 15 S (to Market Common) A bus departs the Myrtle Beach Transfer Center every 30 minutes from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
2) Route 21 (Serves the Broadway at the Beach and downtown tourist attractions). This FREE service runs 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Routes 1, 16, and 16 Express will remain unchanged throughout the Summer Service timeframe.
All Transit services are seven days per week, except Route one, which is offered Monday through Saturday. All services end at 6 p.m. and will not run an extended schedule. The Summer Service frequencies will end on August 31 and Coast RTA's Fall Schedule will begin on September 1.
