Missing WV man believed to be in Murrells Inlet area

MURRELLS INLET, SC (WMBF) - West Virginia officials are searching for a man in Murrells Inlet.

Robert Pettit, 54, has been missing from Barboursville, WV since June 30 and his family is very concerned for his welfare, according to the Barboursville Police Department.

Pettit stands 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighs 180 pounds. He has a dark beard and dark hair. Pettit drives a 2001 dark blue Chevy S-10 pickup truck with a West Virginia license plate number 8MR266.

Officials say he was spotted Monday, July 7 at the Rite Aid, located on Inlet Square Drive.

Pettit has been listed in NCIC as a missing person and may be confused and suffering from dementia.
