MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Police are still looking for three suspects wanted for robbing an apartment occupied by foreign students last Monday, and are again asking the public's help in locating them.

Three men covered their hands with socks as they robbed the apartment in Myrtle Beach on the morning of Monday, July 7, according to a police report.

Myrtle Beach Police responded to 32nd Avenue North just before 5 a.m. Monday in reference to a robbery.

Two victims stated that three men used a crowbar to enter their apartment, presenting a black handgun.

There are two units to the home. Both were hit. The men demanded cash from both sets of students and hit one on the head with the handgun.

Victims say as one of the men took off on foot he shot the gun into the air.

One victim says he never thought something like this would happen to him in the United States.

However, Captain David Knipes with The Myrtle Beach Police Department says they make a conscious effort to explain to foreign students crime does happen here and give them measures to stay safe.

Knipes says this is on their radar and they understand students can be a target for criminals.

Ivan Mikhailov lives in one of the units and says he's now more aware and will make his home safer.

One suspect was described as a black man in his early 20s, 5'8'' and between 130 and140 pounds. According to the police report, he was wearing a white shirt with pictures on it, jeans and a white G-Shock watch.

The second suspect was described as a black man in his early 20s, between 130 and 140 pounds with dreadlocks. The victims said that he was wearing jeans and brown underwear with multi-colored stripes and no shirt.

The third suspect was described as a white man in his mid 20s between 130 and 140 pounds. The victims said he had dark hair, black eyebrows, and was wearing a mask, a black shirt and shorts.

Myrtle Beach Police released composite sketches of two of the suspects, prepared by SLED forensic artists.

The victims stated that the three men rummaged through their cabinets while wearing socks on their hands and using towels to cover their fingerprints. The suspects passed the handgun around during the incident, and one of the suspects physically assaulted one resident, MBPD authorities stated.

The suspects later exited the victims' apartment in an unknown direction.
