Farm equipment destroyed by arson fire in Marlboro County

MARLBORO COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - The Marlboro County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in reference to an arson case the MCSO and South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is currently investigating.

The MCSO and local fire departments responded to Stillwell Road near McColl, SC in reference to a fire Saturday, July 5, according to Sheriff Fred Knight.

The MCSO and Fire Department found three pieces of farm equipment that was burned very badly with a substantial loss to the victim and the farm.

It was determined that it was in fact arson and that there are other fires in fields and surrounding areas that may be associated with the incident, according to Sheriff Knight. Valuable evidence was found during the investigation that is now being analyzed by SLED.

If anyone has any information about these incidents, please call the MCSO at (843) 479-5605 or the Arson Hotline at 1-800-92-ARSON.

A reward for information leading to an arrest in the case is being offered by the Arson Hotline and the MCSO.
