Injured fawn rescued by Horry Co. deputy, expected to make full recovery

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - An injured fawn, found by an Horry County deputy, is expected to make a full recovery.

"We have great news to share!! This little girl has survived being hit by a car yesterday and is doing good. (The story is below). She was very dehydrated, in shock, and had scrapes and abrasions.....but no broken bones or internal injuries," was posted to the Horry County Sheriff's Office Facebook page. 

The young deer was found Monday morning, laying on the sidewalk on Highway 15, near 3rd Avenue South in Myrtle Beach. Photos of the tiny animal were posted on the Sheriff's Office Facebook pageThe deer was taken to a veterinarian by the deputy. Animal doctors treated the deer.

Officials say the deer will be sent to a foster family until she is completely healed, then released into a private and protected sanctuary where she will live out her life.
