MURRELLS INLET, SC (WMBF) - A 30 foot boat sank three miles off the shore of Murrells Inlet Sunday morning.

Eight people were on board, according to Rodney Jewett with the Murrells Inlet Garden City Fire Rescue.

Those on the boat were rescued by private citizen boats along with the assistance from a parasailing boat from Murrells Inlet, according to Jewett.

They were later rescued around 9:30 a.m. Georgetown County Sheriff's Office, Murrells Inlet Garden City Fire Rescue and the U.S. Coast Guard.

A 60-year-old and one teenager were taken to a nearby hospital for non threatening injuries.
