HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A Longs man has been arrested after crashing a vehicle and running from authorities.
Christopher Ryan Britt, of Longs, was driving in an excess of 100 mph when State Highway Patrol initiated a traffic stop, according to Sgt. Jeff Benton, with the Horry County Sheriff's Office.
Britt crashed the vehicle at the intersection of Highway 90 and Highway 57 in Horry County. Britt fled the scene following the crash. A 1-year-old child was in a child safety seat, unharmed.
Britt was taken into custody and is behind bars at J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
The charges have not been released, but multiple charges are pending, according to Benton.
Damage was done to a state street sign and a front lawn, as a result of the incident.
