CMC now offering sleep disorders support group

According to the National Sleep Foundation, sleep apnea affects more than 18 million Americans. According to the National Sleep Foundation, sleep apnea affects more than 18 million Americans.

CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - Beginning Tuesday, July 15, Conway Medical Center's Sleep Disorders Center will start offering A.W.A.K.E. for those who suffer from sleep apnea and to give those the tools to manage their own health successfully.

A.W.A.K.E., which stands for Alert Wellness and Keeping Energetic, is sponsored by the American Sleep Apnea Association. 

According to the National Sleep Foundation, sleep apnea affects more than 18 million Americans.

The first meeting will held at noon on July 15 in the CMC Administration Building Auditorium.

Lunch will be provided and participants can meet with vendors and CMC Sleep Disorders Center staff.

Moving forward, all meetings will be held at 5:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month in the private dining rooms at CMC. Each meeting includes a speaker and a support segment.

Vice President of MBREDC Sandy Davis said the website is used as a recruitment tool. With the new website, MBREDC will be able to more efficiently contact companies who may be taking a look at their website, as well as provide more information the companies may be looking for.
