Yacht hits bottom of Intracoastal Waterway near NMB airport

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - A yacht hit the bottom of the Intracoastal Waterway in Horry County, behind the North Myrtle Beach Airport.

Two rescue boats were launched into the waters to assist the people from the yacht to a private dock in the area, according to HCFR Investigator Kevin Rainier. No injuries were reported.

The owner of the yacht called for a private service to remove the boat. The yacht has since been removed by a tugboat.

The incident was reported at about 3 p.m. Wednesday.
