CONWAY, SC (WMBF) – The Coast RTA is looking to hire up to 24 temporary drivers and two mechanics to assist in launching its Summer Service in July.

With Horry County's decision to provide $1,055,000 to the public transportation organization, Coast RTA's management has decided to proceed with hiring 24 drivers with a commercial driver's licenses, and two Class A – heavy duty diesel mechanics.

Applicants must already have their CDLs, stressed Deputy General Manager Felicia Beaty, which will help to kickstart the training and orientation process for drivers.

Interim General Manager and CEO Julie Norton-Dew hopes to have the prospects hired within two weeks of Tuesday's award of county funds.

Interested candidates may apply online at: www.coastrta.com or at the Coast RTA office, 1418 Third Avenue, Conway.
