MBPD: Suspect breaks into Sea Mart for cigarettes

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Myrtle Beach police say a suspect broke into the Sea Mart on North Kings Highway Thursday morning, and surveillance video shows his theft included only cigarettes.

According the police report, officers responded to an alarm activation at the Sea Mart and found part of the front door shattered.
They were able to get a look at the surveillance footage which shows at 1:21 a.m., a suspect tried to open the doors of the business. He walked off and returned with what looked like a hammer. He walked off again and returned before smashing the glass near the lock.
The suspect opened the door and went into the store for only 32 seconds. Police say he took off with six full-sized cartons of Newport cigarettes, equal to $342 worth of cigarettes.
Police obtained the video and put out a BOLO for the suspect.
