Former NASCAR SpeedPark gets new name, new owner

MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - Burroughs & Chapin Company, Inc. announced Friday the company will be opening a go-cart park at a familiar site along Highway 17.

The new Broadway Grand Prix go-cart park will open at the former site of NASCAR SpeedPark, which will close its operations to the public on April 27, according to a press release issued by Burroughs & Chapin Company, Inc.

The new park will be owned by Burroughs & Chapin and managed by Mark Lazarus. Lazarus, who has many titles, including Chairman of the Horry County Council, also has more than 30 years experience in the amusement business. Lazarus is the past owner of Myrtle Beach Grand Prix and the current owner and managing partner of Wild Water and Wheels in Surfside Beach.

The release states the new park is set to open in May.
