Checkpoints set to ramp up to cut down on DUI crashes in Horry County

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - Checkpoints will be held throughout the county in an effort to reduce drinking and driving-related car crashes.

According to a press release, law enforcement officials and the Horry County CAST coalition have joined to address the high rate of DUI crashes in Horry County.

Members from the two agencies are hoping to reduce the high rate of DUI crashes by conducting additional public safety checkpoints and saturation patrols throughout the county.

There will be increased enforcement through public safety checkpoints and saturation patrols in Horry County throughout the weekend of April 26.
