Agencies team together to reduce underage drunk driving in Laurinburg

Posted: Updated:

LAURINBURG, NC (WMBF) - Several agencies are teaming together in an effort to reduce drunk driving for the students of Scotland High School.

On Friday, April 25, the Laurinburg Police Department, along with other emergency agencies are putting together a mock incident at the school.

Students will be escorted outdoors to witness firsthand what happens when a vehicle is involved in a crash.

A demonstration of patients being extracted will then be performed, along with a state trooper arresting a drunk driver.

Carolina Air Care will demonstrate a student being airlifted to a trauma center.

The wreck will also show one student fatality.

A presentation featuring speakers from the North Carolina District Attorney's Office and State Highway Patrol will follow.
