MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF/AP) - A 22-year-old man from New York has died after falling seven floors from the balcony of a Myrtle Beach hotel.

Autopsy results show Justin Smith died from injuries sustained after falling from the seventh floor of the Windsurfer Motel on North Ocean Boulevard. Myrtle Beach Police spokesman Captain David Knipes says the fall happened shortly after midnight Thursday.

Authorities are investigating but they do not suspect foul play. A police report says an officer was flagged down by the manager of the motel the time of the fall.

Smith was found on the ground near the hotel pool.

Fowler believes Smith was staying in Vermont, and was possibly attending school there. He was originally from New York.
