The Etowah County Sheriff's Office says they have arrested a pregnant woman after she failed a drug test.

"Amanda Leigh Johnson, 27, of Southside, was arrested and is charged with one count of chemical endangerment of exposing a child to an environment in which controlled substances are ingested, produced or distributed," stated Investigator Bobby Bryant. The charge is a felony.

Johnson was arrested after failing a drug test mandated by Etowah County Court Referral Office. Johnson is three and a half months pregnant and tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine. She is being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on $50,000 cash bond.
