RAW VIDEO: Time lapse of the lunar eclipse

Posted: Updated:

(NBC News) A total lunar eclipse was visible across much of the nation early Tuesday morning.

The eclipse began around two o'clock eastern time and about an hour later, the moon was fully eclipsed and glowing an orange-red color.

NASA says Tuesday's eclipse is the last full lunar eclipse visible from the United States until 2019.

No part of the eclipse was visible from Europe, most of Africa, the Middle East or most of Asia.
