Florence man charged with attempted murder for shooting at party

FLORENCE, SC (WMBF) – A man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after shooting a victim twice in the thigh at a house party in Florence on Sunday, officials stated.

According to booking information from the Florence County Detention Center, 36-year-old George McCall was booked Sunday morning on charges of attempted murder, possession of a firearm during a violent crime, and possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a violent felony.

The incident happened at a house party on Oakland Avenue on Sunday, according to Florence Police Major Carlos Raines. An argument started over a girl, and the McCall shot the victim twice in the thigh.

McCall is being charged with attempted murder because you can bleed out from the thigh, Maj. Raines said.
